INVESTIGATION OF DEMOGRAPHIC FACTORS AFFECTING THE LEVEL OF JOB SATISFIED AND ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT IN TEACHERS

Subject: The subject of this study consists of demographic variables affecting teachers’ job satisfaction and organizational commitment levels. Purpose: In this study, it was aimed to investigate the demographic factors that affect teachers’ job satisfaction and organizational commitment levels in the light of the information in the literature. Significance: In order for teachers to have a high level of job satisfaction and organizational commitment, first of all, the factors which affect the level of job satisfaction and organizational commitment should be well known. In this context, it is thought that this study will contribute to the literature.
Method: In this study, document analysis method was used. In the context, firstly, 20 postgraduate thesis studies related to the research topic were examined. The thesis studies examined within the scope of the research were accessed from the CoHE National Thesis Center database. Content analysis method was used to determine the findings obtained in the postgraduate thesis studies. Results: At the end of the study, it was found that age, gender, professional seniority and type of school were the leading demographic variables which affect teachers’ job satisfaction and their organizational commitment levels.
